WHY TOYOTA ARE REBADGNIG MARUTI SUZUKI CARS IN INDIA.

Toyota a well known car brand of Japan with lot of exciting cars such as the supra etc when came to India had lots of cars such as Innova and Fortuner etc. But nowadays Toyota is rebadging Maruti Suzuki cars in India, but what is the reason for Toyota to rebadge cars

1) Maruti Suzuki is one of the oldest car brand and knows the how the Indians wants the car to be. Toyota launched the Toyota etios and etios liva but both the products from Toyota went fail. Thus to attract Indian customer They must have used these strategy.

2) In rebadging cars no efforts are needed because building a entire car loses money as well efforts but rebadging it is a piece of cake thus manufacturing new cars Toyota is just rebadging ta the with Toyota logos and different names .

3) It is difficult for Toyota to launch new cars and would take long time as most of the cars are spec internationally and would be difficult for them to be in India. Thus making a partnership with Maruti Suzuki gives them the opportunity to rebadge all Maruti Suzuki cars.

4) Toyota has future plans with Maruti such as electric vehicles, Hybrid vehicles and want to maintain there position in Indian market. To do so they need to partner Maruti which has a better understanding of Indian market

WHY CAR BRANDS DOES NOT MANUFACTURE FEATURE LOADED AND SAFER CARS IN INDIA.

Most of the cars present in India are not feature loaded and are not safer too. According to GLOBAL NCAP cars like Mahindra Scorpio, Renault Kwid, Maruti Suzuki Celerio have scored 0 stars in crash test. Even luxury car brands like Land Rover do not feature loaded cars in India. For eg;- Land Rover Range Rover Evoque does not features like 360 degree parking camera or Ventilated seats which is must for Indian climate, but it is not provided

I am not saying that all brands do not have feature loaded or safer cars. Brands like Tata Motors have feature loaded as well safer cars as most of the cars have received 5 stars rating in crash test. Car brands like Ford or Hyundai are safer lack on certain feature such as the Ford Ecosport or Hyundai Creta is available in 4WD in international market but not available in India. In India Ford Ecosport and Hyundai Creta are available only in FWD.

The main reason why car brands do not have feature packed cars or safer cars is because most of the Indians do not have knowledge about cars thus they buy cars just seeing their looks. They are not bothered whether the car has features or the car is safer. This is the reasons why most people die during a road accident.

People should know which cars have features and are safer before buying the car and cars brands should also add features in their cars so that the consumers can take the benefits of it. Most importantly they should be safer so that the people inside should come out with minimum injuries when they meet with an accident.

DOES INDIA HAVE THE INFRASTRUCTURE FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES.

We know that petrol is a non renewable source of energy, thus electric vehicles is our future. But the question is do we have the proper infrastructure for electric vehicles. Indian car market is very basic because most of car buyers in India have same requirements and thus the car manufacturers make the cars similar. Introducing electric vehicles in India will be a tough job. It will take time for the people to accept the electric vehicles.

India has the second largest population in the world and thus lack of education can be a problem for electric vehicles. India is divided in urban population and rural population but most of the areas are rural so the people living there does not have the proper knowledge of electric vehicles. People does not have seriousness about ill effects to nature caused by petrol or diesel vehicles. Government should take steps to educate rural people or people who are not serious.

India is developing country and thus will take time to setup charging station in every corner of the country. But it is a task to setup charging station due to voltage problems in rural areas, land problems etc.

Car brands like MG, Hyundai, Tata, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar have launched their electric cars in India but are very expensive and the common man cannot afford them thus prefer petrol or diesel cars. The price of cars will drop as when the lithium batteries are affordable.

India will be successful in the electric vehicles such electric tractors or other vehicles are made at affordable price and can be used in their occupation. It will take time for India to completely transfer from petrol to diesel to electric vehicles but surely it will one of the best electric car market.

WHY SUPERCAR OR HYPERCAR BRANDS DO NOT LAUNCH THEIR CARS IN INDIA.

1} Supercar brands like Bugatti, Pagani, Koenigsegg do not launch their supercars or hypercars in India because more then half of the world drives on the right hand side of the road, thus most of the car brands launch their cars in left hand drive cars only. India is among the countries where cars are driven on the the left hand side of the road, thus the cars here are right hand drive and so such brands are not launched in India.

2} Brands do not launch their supercars or hypercars in India because, is a car brand plans to expand it’s market in India and wanting to launch a car by CBU (Complete build unit) platform, it can bring . The price of that car will be more up than double the actual price because of the high import duties. India levies almost more than 200% import duties. Thus the supercar brands do not launch their cars in India for that reason.

3} Road conditions in India; India is a developing country thus the roads here are not made for supercars or hypercars. In India we have some supercar brands such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, etc but very few sales happen annually. Owners of these expensive cars have trouble driving their cars on Indian roads. Seeing these situations most of the car brands do not launch their cars in India.
