We know that petrol is a non renewable source of energy, thus electric vehicles is our future. But the question is do we have the proper infrastructure for electric vehicles. Indian car market is very basic because most of car buyers in India have same requirements and thus the car manufacturers make the cars similar. Introducing electric vehicles in India will be a tough job. It will take time for the people to accept the electric vehicles.

India has the second largest population in the world and thus lack of education can be a problem for electric vehicles. India is divided in urban population and rural population but most of the areas are rural so the people living there does not have the proper knowledge of electric vehicles. People does not have seriousness about ill effects to nature caused by petrol or diesel vehicles. Government should take steps to educate rural people or people who are not serious.
India is developing country and thus will take time to setup charging station in every corner of the country. But it is a task to setup charging station due to voltage problems in rural areas, land problems etc.

Car brands like MG, Hyundai, Tata, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar have launched their electric cars in India but are very expensive and the common man cannot afford them thus prefer petrol or diesel cars. The price of cars will drop as when the lithium batteries are affordable.
India will be successful in the electric vehicles such electric tractors or other vehicles are made at affordable price and can be used in their occupation. It will take time for India to completely transfer from petrol to diesel to electric vehicles but surely it will one of the best electric car market.
